It seems the two secrets to get kids to smile are:

1. Have someone else do something really funny.
2. Take as many pictures as possible.

Loving Wednesdays

I've been very fortunate to work at a small company that values family. Each Wednesday, I work in the evenings and spend the day with my 6 month old daughter.

Not only do I get to have lots of fun with her, but it is a perfect break in the week. When I get to work Wednesday evening, I have focus as well as quiet time to get things done.

Has it been this long?

I can't believe it has been almost two years since I've posted anything in my personal weblog. Let's see here... what was that URL again for "nick gaydos > thynk"?

I was originally taken by weblogs back in the late 1990's and was captivated by Dave Winer, The Cluetrain Manifesto Authors: Doc Searls, Chris Locke, and David Weinberger, as well as by Jason Kottke. At the time, I wrote a simple set of applications at home to post dynamically with a database.

I soon moved to Radio by Userland in '02, to focus on writing instead of coding and carried on for about four years before the workstation running Radio finally gave in. I ran short on time and got bored. Radio has since floundered and I've spent the past two years trying to decide how to proceed.

So here goes. This could be the turning of a new leaf...
